Open Source Cloud & Big Data Sales Engineer - Germany



Dell is looking for an Open Source Cloud & Big Data Sales Engineer. The position is for a senior candidate having strong knowledge of Open Source Cloud software and infrastructure (with an emphasis on OpenStack) as well as solid knowledge and understanding of Big Data in its generality and Hadoop in particular.



The following skills, motivations and experience levels are expected:



Role Responsibilities



- Responsibility for pre-sales support of AE’s and SE’s in Germany where specialist knowledge of mentioned disciplines is required to successfully close sales opportunities



- Need to have strong sales/lead qualification skills and the ability to suggest and support use-case workload/solution selling



- Discussing Cloud Concepts and technologies at both Technical level and at Business Level. An understanding of big data principles would be an advantage. Experience in “C-Level” selling is an advantage



- Build and maintain strong partner and cross-Dell relationships to support the Sales and Channel sales community



QualificationsRequirements



- 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.



- Thorough, generic, understanding of Cloud and Big Data.



- Thorough understanding of Open Source Cloud particularly OpenStack.



- Thorough understanding of and experience with OpenStack and Hadoop



- Extensive working experience with at least one flavor of Linux.



- Computer programming experience would be an advantage



- Very good communication skills.



- Strong analytical skills.



- Good presenter and an ability to convince an audience.



- Strong German and English language skills (written and spoken) mandatory
