Senior Manager of Software Engineering

San Francisco Bay Area, US - Computer Software, Information Technology and Services, Internet

In this role as Senior Software Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for enabling one or more development teams to build out innovative automation tools focusing around our core backend infrastructure systems such as database operation, storage migration, system capacity add, split and migration. To be successful, you’ll need to hire and mentor developers at all levels to create a best in industry development organization. With a passionate, results oriented approach, you’ll drive your teams to innovate and build robust software, allowing Salesforce to maintain and grow its leadership position in this expanding market.



Responsibilities:

• Manage one or more teams of 3-5 Developers within the Capacity Technology Cloud organization


• Delivery high quality software and tools from requirement gathering to production


• Scrum Master 1-2 agile scrum teams


• Attract, develop, and grow engineers to create self-organizing, empowered, and motivated teams


• Aggressively hire top talent developers


• Own the product - Drive engineering, product, and quality to ensure efficient delivery of new, robust product functionality

Experience/Skills Required:

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience


• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams


• Results orientation with a focus on delivery


• Track record as a manager of consistent product delivery, employee satisfaction, and retention


• Track record of hiring the best and brightest engineers in a competitive job market


• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment


• Thorough understanding of software architecture and object oriented design


• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Experience/Skills Desired:

• Experience building highly scalable applications involving massive amounts of data volumes and transactions


• Experience in enterprise software development or management


• Functional CRM knowledge
