Want to work with other smart people to solve hard problems? We're looking for experienced, hands-on software engineers in quality engineering discipline to define and implement innovative products that run and perform at cloud scale. A large part of our architecture is driven by metadata in a multi-tenant environment. We are building cloud-scale storage infrastructure to store and manage billions of files and petabytes of data. We are looking for world-class quality engineers to help design, build and test our next generation cloud-scale storage system.



Responsibilities:



• Lead team efforts to design and implement major pieces of the salesforce.com cloud storage infrastructure.



• Lead by example as a hands-on quality engineer, contributing high quality automation and providing detailed feedback in design and code reviews.



• Help resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improves system availability, resiliency, and performance.



• Work closely with the rest of the technology leadership team, including development, quality engineering, and technical operations to establish our technical strategy and communicate it to the executive team and externally



• Work with a small agile team on large scale, distributed, storage systems to address needs of our fast growing customer base.



Qualifications:



• Deep knowledge of Java/C++/C, and experience developing and tuning highly available server-side applications



• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering



• Experience handling web scale data systems



• Experience in software quality engineering discipline. Expertise required in writing test plans and test automation



• 5+ years experience building, improving and testing highly concurrent distributed systems



• Ability to learn quickly and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment



• Highly effective communication skills



Desired Skills:



• Experience in building and testing scalable distributed storage systems



• Expert level network programming experience is required



• Knowledge of network protocols



• Knowledge of Linux file systems



• Experience building secure software and have understanding of security techniques and algorithms.
