Position Description
We are seeking an Front-End Development Lead with experience developing responsive mobile first web and hybrid applications. This role is hands-on in developing cutting edge hybrid mobile and responsive web applications to meet the business needs of our clients, and will apply functional knowledge and technical expertise in the implementation and maintenance of custom software. This individual has a passion for innovation, and is a hard-working, results-oriented software engineer who can communicate effectively and work well on a team of developers in large-scale enterprise-class mobile application development efforts for some of the world's biggest companies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Experience Design leadership and project team members to produce thoughtful, valuable, meaningful digital solutions
- Designs and implements highly usable, cross-browser compatible interfaces according to industry best practices and product specifications.
- Focuses primarily on implementation of HTML, CSS, and Javascript based layouts and components while collaborating with other developers and designers on site architecture, design, and implementation.
- Engages in all phases of the work, from conceptual ideation to detailed design delivery
- Ensures innovative front-end technology-focused ideas.
- Collaborates with team on internal and external community initiatives.
- Communicates effectively within multiple channels.
- Creates solutions using industry standard methodologies.
- Provides thought leadership to the team around new approaches and workflows and technologies.
- Provides thought leadership to the business around innovative front-end technology solutions.
- Efficiently structures and optimizes layouts for web-based and mobile environments
- Ensures pixel-perfect fidelity for all digital solutions delivered by Experience Design team.
- Accepts responsibility for the quality of all the team outputs.
- Creates a strategy roadmap for development inline with key business objectives and goals.
- Helps facilitate the career growth of team members.
- Builds on existing relationships with clients and realize new opportunities that show value.
- Strives to be on the forefront of interactive technologies.
- Provides resourcing insights for projects of all types.
- Coordinates with Implementation Services resources to ensure the successful integration of front and back-end technologies.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Expert knowledge of front-end development technologies, with several specialist areas of knowledge
- Solid experience with web standards, SEO and accessibility issues
- Experience building and delivering highly scalable, reliable, and complex software systems on-time and on budget.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch.
- Knowledge of HTML5/JavaScript/UI libraries and their use in web/mobile development
- A commitment to writing quality code.
- An eagerness to learn new things and to help others do the same.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and project management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- Experience with Apex/Visualforce for Force.com is a plus.
- Open Source Software contributions (GitHub, Google Code, etc.) and community involvement (local developer groups, Stack Overflow, etc.) are a plus.
