Success in a solutions-oriented go-to-market strategy requires deep application and technical marketing expertise around targeted workloads and market segments as well as knowledge of competitive trends and buyer preferences.



The role of Storage Solution Manager for Virtualization represents is expected to be the top SME in the Storage BU for VDI, private cloud, and general virtualization. The primary mission of this role is to establish the Dell storage offering as a credible and capable solution for these workloads and drive market share growth by all means appropriate.



Activities are expected to include the following:



-Maintain close relationships with Storage Solution Engineering to jointly drive technical marketing deliverables, certifications, benchmarking, and other key assets



-Work across LOB lines to nurture the end-to-end virtual solution effort to align the Dell point-of-view, common reference architectures, and outbound marketing activities.



-Develop, maintain, and demonstrate over time a thought-leadership-level of expertise on the applications, the market landscape, and future trends.



-Engage directly with Sales to coordinate large RFP responses and assist in closure of large opportunities



-Identify and prioritize requirements for ISV-related activities including business development, certifications, and joint go-to-market opportunities.



-Define and promote solutions positioning and messaging into product launch efforts.



-Drive outbound activities for the solution area including social media, events participation, webinars, etc



-Drive sales enablement through training, evangelism, and sales toolkit development (demos, sizing guides, etc)



-Drive future product requirements and priorities through Product Management with respect to future application trends, workload positioning, and competitive differentiation



-Develop go-to-market tactics for new technical marketing updates and capabilities.



-Monitor competitive developments and formulate appropriate response tactics



-Provide authorship and editorial for new solution-related assets



Qualifications



-8 or more years of experience working directly with storage in virtualized environments with demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse sales, marketing, and engineering teams in a large enterprise



-In VDI, an understanding of architectural and topology landscape including tradeoffs for persistent/non-persistent, performance considerations, hypervisor trends, and a firm grasp on storage trends.



-In Private Cloud, an understanding of the prevailing architectures from VmWare, Microsoft, and Openstack, a POV on hybrid offerings, and firm grasp on storage trends as well as direct exposure to end-customer environments for VDI and virtualization.



-Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, Hyperconverged, and SDS storage technologies and how the strengths/weaknesses for utilizing in various virtualization environments..



-Familiarity with large-OEM direct and channel Sales organizations, and strategies for training, awareness, enablement, CRM, compensation, and field partnership.



-The candidate should also demonstrate an understanding of sales processes in large enterprise sales organizations, good writing and presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to identify and overcome obstacles to success as well as distinguish features from benefits, and coach Sales makers on how to have value-oriented customer conversations



-Good understanding of key ISVs, how to engage with them, and ability to drive solutions priorities



-Bachelor's Degree required



-MBA - preferred
