Success in a solutions-oriented go-to-market strategy requires deep application and technical marketing expertise around targeted workloads and market segments as well as knowledge of competitive trends and buyer preferences.



Dell's portfolio includes multiple powerful file and object solutions, providing a strong opportunity for greenfield market growth. This requires a strong effort around prescriptive product positioning and investments in the file ecosystem to support share-growth on a workloads by workloads basis. Investments include enterprise solutions development such as file archival and backup ecosystems as well as accelerating growth in specific verticals such as M&E, GIS, EDA, HPC, and surveillance. The primary mission of this role is to establish the Dell's file storage offering as a credible and capable solution for these workloads and drive market share growth by all means appropriate.



Activities are expected to include the following:



-Maintain close relationships with Storage Solution Engineering to jointly drive technical marketing deliverables, certifications, benchmarking, and other key assets



-Demonstrate an understanding of sales processes in large enterprise sales organizations, and how to optimize communications and training initiatives for different field roles as well as engage directly with Sales to coordinate large RFP responses and assist in closure of large opportunities, including delivering presentations and product demos as appropriate.



-Develop, maintain, and demonstrate over time a thought-leadership-level of expertise on the applications, the market landscape, and future trends for file storage.



-Work with NAS Product Managers to define and drive (including authorship) the roadmap for NAS technical marketing deliverables including white papers, certifications, benchmarking, and other solutions collateral.



-Define and promote solutions positioning and messaging into product launch efforts as well as develop and execute go-to-market plans for new technical marketing updates and capabilities.



-Drive outbound activities for NAS including social media, events participation, Sales and customer-facing webinars, reference and case-study development.



-Drive future product requirements and priorities through Product Management with respect to application trends, lost business analysis, and differentiation opportunities



-Assist in pre-release customer evaluation and beta programs prior to each major product launch, collecting and communicating feedback to prepare for the product’s impending release.



Qualifications



-8 or more years of experience in the storage industry, with an emphasis on file solutions.



-5 years or more experence in Marketing activities.



-The ability to track execution of a large number of deliverables related to the file effort including technical and non-technical, internal and external.



-An understanding of how storage markets segment along horizontal and vertical lines, and how Sales and Marketing tactics should vary by segment.



-Good understanding of the relative requirements of different application workflows.



-Good understanding of key ISVs, how to engage with them, and ability to drive Solutions priorities



-Ability to distinguish features from benefits, promote value-oriented field conversations, and tailor conversations from high-level to technical deep-dive as appropriate.



-Demonstrated ability to balance tactical involvement with strategic & program initiatives as well as demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse sales, marketing, and engineering teams in a large enterprise



-An architectural and feature-level understand of prevailing file solutions including scale-up, scale-out, HPTC solutions, HSM, and object technologies.



-Bachelors Degree required



-MBA - preferred
