Job Description



Dell Services Federal Government is looking to add a resourceful Java/MATLAB Developer to their highly professional and qualified team. In this position, you will help shape the business of the client, at their site, in multiple long term projects. The selected candidate will be responsible to analyzes business requirements/processes and system integration considerations to determine appropriate technology solutions for internal and external customers. Our mission is to provide support for enterprise wide utilization of reporting systems used throughout the U.S. Government.



Unique roles and responsibilities include:

* Coding and unit testing software that meets business requirements and technical design.

* Being a contributing member in meetings with the client and co-workers to improve product development and deliverables.

* Working with senior members to create features, application enhancements and upgrades.

* Display strong cooperative skills and be able to work with a dedicated team that has a tremendous knowledge base of existing products, features and source code.



Additional job functions may include any or all of the following:

Designs, evaluates, codes, configures, tests and documents applications based on system and user requirements. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.

Required Skills



2-5 years of core JAVA development in a Java/J2EE environment.

Proficiency with SQL, Struts, Apache Tomcat.

Seasoned experience with MATLAB.



Desired Skills



Proficiency with Relational DBMS (preferably Oracle).



Education



Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent



Experience



Typically requires at least 10 years relevant experience without a Degree; 4+ years experience with Undergraduate Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with a Graduate Degree.



2-5 years experience working in a team environment including ability to clarify requirements and specifications with the customer and clearly communicate status of progress, problems encountered with recommended solutions, and estimate completion dates.



Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
