The eCommerce Applications Architect will design and develop web and mobile e-commerce and health insurance applications used in areas like content management, search engine, commerce engine, payment system, order management system, digital marketing, and product information management for Dell customers in the healthcare payer industry.



***This is a virtual/remote U.S. based role which will require 25-30% travel.



Responsibilities will include:



- Lead the overall design of large revenue and complex custom services solutions

- Participate with the customer in the strategic design process and translate business needs into technical systems solutions

- Identify, analyze, and evaluate alternative design solutions

- Review design proposals for technical feasibility and correctness; together with Chief Architect, establish cost and time estimates for implementation

- Determine compliance with contract specifications; work to overcome shortfalls and bring programs into contract compliance

- Design quality control and test procedures to ensure deliverables meet established design and performance goals; perform spot audits and tests to ensure adherence to Dell Systems’ standards

- Assume principal technical role in demonstrations, furnishing technical expertise and answering customer inquiries with regard to both hardware and software

- Construct risk assessments and corresponding remediation plans relative to custom solution proposals

- Solutions financial modeling, profit and loss and cash flow development, risk assessment, and partner cost management

- Respond to RFP, RFI, cost model, and solutioning requests for the health plan team



QualificationsRequired Skills:

- Undergraduate degree and 8+ years of hands on development and design experience on web and mobile technologies, especially e-commerce and health insurance applications

- Direct experience architecting web scale e-commerce applications on J2ee and/or .Net stack with MVC and SOA based patterns

- Strong experience with REST services and API management

- Experience working on Spring, Struts, and at least one of the J2ee based e-commerce development frameworks (Oracle-ATG, IBM-Websphere, Hybris)

- Presentation layer technologies like JSP, Spring UI, Ext-JS, Apache Wicket

- Experience integrating external applications/systems through web services, MQ

- Must have architected solutions involving more than 10 systems, more than once



Desired Skills:

- Health insurance domain knowledge

- Strong experience on various e-commerce tools/products used in areas like content management, search engine, commerce engine, payment system, order management system, digital marketing, product information management

- Exposure to Responsive, Adaptive web development technologies

- Experience supporting a large scale application in production
