Job Description
Solution Architect Sr. Advisor
Primary responsibility of a senior Solution Architect is to work with our customers’ Chief Architects as well as Dell’s Account Executives and Business Development leads to convert complex business requirements into winning solutions.
The Senior Solutions Architect provides superior level technical sales support and collaborates with our sales teams in preparing and closing services deals. A suitable candidate must have broad industry knowledge, strong architectural vision and hands-on demonstration skills for middleware products, systems, packages, applications, and deployment environments.
Given the breadth of clients to be supported, this architect must combine strong business acumen and thought leadership on emerging technology trends in the industry.
The Solution Architect plays a key role in our delivery team translating our clients’ business requirements into specific system-, applications and process designs for custom-built solutions that meets or exceeds customer expectations .
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Integrates deep subject matter expertise with industry experience and in-depth knowledge of professional standards and trends within area of expertise.
· Understands impact of emerging business trends and their implications for Dell and its customers.
· Analysis, design and development of complex software applications.
· Designs mobile and cloud computing architectures.
· Optimization and further development of existing application systems.
· Develops and executes POCs and demos on an as-needed basis. Assists prospects in identifying, modeling and solving complex technical problems.
· Develops frameworks and cross-project solutions and concepts.
· System integration of new custom-built applications into existing landscapes and client processes.
· Supervises and coordinates sub-projects and on-site and near-shore delivery teams .
· Provides education and training for project teams.
· Technical leadership or on-site technical assistance in a sales context.
· Participates or leads in customer presentations at senior and executive level.
· Prepares and delivers presentations to partners/prospects at very technical levels (i.e. CTO/CIO)
· Adapts communication techniques for audiences at various internal and external levels and ensures understanding of technical matters by non-technical, executive decision makers
Qualifications Qualifications:
· 10+ years of enterprise IT application experience that includes a minimum of at least 5 years of hands-on software development
· Graduate in Computer Science, Math or equivalent experience.
· Prior experience in a technical leadership role
· Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software solutions
· Subject matter expert in at least one service area or technology and proficient in multiple service areas and technologies
· Understanding and management of customer business needs and expectations.
· Skills and experience in constructing complex service solutions
· Deep experience and methodology background in requirements analysis and UML
· Middleware know-how (JBoss, Websphere, SAP Netweaver, …)
· Good knowledge of Databases ( Oracle DB, My SQL, … )
· Development expertise in Java, JEE, EJB, JPA, jBPM, JSON, Restservices and Webservices, System Integration to ERP Systems (SAP, ERP LN, BaaN, etc.),
· Experience in design and delivery of enterprise applications involving front end technologies like jQuery Mobile, HTML5, responsive Design, Portal, JSF, Swing, Eclipse, RCP, Android and Window 8
· Methodologies: Agile, SCRUM, RUP, UML
· Strong leadership, customer focus, organizational agility, integrity and trust, quick learner, and focus on results
· Executive speaking and presentation skills – White board, small and large group presentations
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Team player, able to work under pressure
· Willingness to travel
