Job Description



Dell Services Federal Government is looking for a team player to provide a broad array of computer desktop services in support of our customers 24/7 critical/essential mission of saving lives and protecting people through healthcare awareness. The successful candidate will assist in this mission by ensuring necessary IT equipment remains operational. Therefore, Dell is looking for someone who can work in a ticketing environment responding to desktop related issues in a Microsoft Windows 7/Office 2013 environment. Individual must be able to work effectively, often independently in responding to customer service request tickets and closely adhere to written procedures. This position requires the ability to take incoming trouble calls, using HP - Service Center, troubleshoot the problem and provide resolution in a timely manner within SLA. Must have solid MS application experience, and know imaging, ghosting and backup procedures. Have the ability to perform additional projects or functions as required.



Required Skills



Candidate will provide extensive desktop/laptop support to customers and be able to perform and have the following experience:



* 4+ years of hands on experience working with computer hardware to include Dell and Hewlett Packard.

* Must have 3+ years of working knowledge of Blackberries and SMS application delivery.

* 4+ years working with a ticketing system (HEAT, Remedy, HP Service Center), and understand escalation procedures.

* 4+ years' experience coordinating special projects involving workstation software installs and configurations; know how to image and do necessary backups to data to avoid data loss.

* 3+ years performing troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems with various PCs; perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems; may require independently working overtime and weekends during emergencies and system upgrades or maintenance.

* 4+ years' experience scheduling installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

* Must understand escalation procedures.

* Ensure workstation data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.

* Must be able to work independently to provide IT support for customers, special projects, rollouts and assignments, including all desktop support. Support may involve desktops, laptops, modems, DSL, tablets, and Blackberry devices, and Smart Phones.

* May require physically moving, shipping, or transporting CDC IT equipment, as well as coordinating equipment delivery and repairs.

* Will require acting as a Primary or Alternate Property Custodian; maintaining IT property and being responsible for property accountability.

* Document system events; easily resolve problems; use sound judgment.

. Be able to lift 20-30 pounds; and pass a security background check.



Desired Skills



* Have technical knowledge in the following areas: Hardware: A variety of Intel based PCs, laptops; network printers, Blackberries; Software: MS Office 2013, MS Exchange, Citrix and Ghost; OS: Windows 7



* Certifications: Should have at least one of the following: A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA.



Education



Must have high school diploma; and should have at least an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems or related technical field.



Experience



Typically requires at least 4 - 8 years relevant experience without a Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree.
