We have an excellent opportunity for an Cadence IT Applications Manager in Round Rock, TX. This position will manage software and license servers for hardware engineering development with Cadence software suite.
Role Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, deploy and manage Off-The-Shelf software and license servers for hardware engineering development.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with electrical engineering design software, in particular Cadence software suite, including Allegro, Orcad, and Concept.
- Experience and knowledge with Cadence parts libraries, standards and requirements.
- Maintain and manage software maintenance, vendor relationships, and associated documentation required for software management.
- Serve as an interface function between the engineering customer, purchasing, compliance and vendors.
- Manage global software usage, licensing and servers. Provide metrics for sound software purchase decisions, drive for efficiency in use models and make suggestions for reducing software tool and tool maintenance costs.
- Augment software asset management efficiency through automation and tools to enhance tool management.
- Provide in-depth user support for server engineering customers.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years prior experience in a similar role or with similar experience.
- Experience with managing a variety of software tools, software management process, programming skills and tools development.
- Knowledge with server set up and license installation and hosting, FlexLM and database management.
- Strong organization, communication, relationship building, negation and discipline skills.
- Data collection, management and analysis ability.
- Self-starter and ability to conceptualize and implement improvements in the software management process.
- Strong ability to work with a variety of engineering customers including, electrical and mechanical engineers, SI engineers, ECAD designers, Test engineers and management.
- Ability to understand and set priorities within the framework of the software management process.
