Data Scientist -- Labor Market Insights
LinkedIn is building the Economic Graph, a digital mapping of the economy. It connects each member of the global workforce, the companies for which they have worked, the communities in which they live, the education institutions at which they have studied, and the degrees, certifications, and skills that they have acquired.
We wish to leverage this Economic Graph to deliver insights into the real-world economy by helping members, companies, and communities learn how to be more competitive. We are looking for a Data Scientist with specialization in Economics or Labor Markets to help us realize this goal.
Basic Qualifications:
- MS or Ph.D. in a related quantitative discipline, including but not limited to Operations Research, Economics, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or Economic Sociology.
- Industrial or Academic Experience with Labor Market Research or Econometrics.
- Experience with standard data science tools and systems.
- Experience developing applications or packages for data mining in a language such as Python, R, Matlab, Java, Scala, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to write effectively for the press, business leaders, and academic researchers.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize economic data from multiple sources.
-Knowledge of graph data mining techniques
- Experience with Hadoop
- Expertise in data visualization
