The team identifies time-consuming internal processes and then builds solutions that are reliable and scalable enough to work within the size and scope of the company. You listen to and translate Googler needs into high-level technical specifications, design and develop recommended systems and consult with Google executives to ensure smooth implementation. Whether battling large system processes or leveraging our homegrown suite of Google products for Googlers themselves, you help Googlers work faster and more efficiently.
Our users come first, and the Corporate Engineering Apps team is at the heart of that promise. The Corporate Engineering Apps team designs, develops, deploys and supports in-house performance review application for Google's biggest assets, its employees.
In this role, you will work with internal Google teams to research, evaluate and implement new and innovative solutions. You will translate Googler needs into high-level technical specifications, define and design the scope of technical projects, and oversee execution. You will be faced with the challenge of delivering solutions that balance rapid innovation with uncompromised reliability. Your job will be to design and implement a superior Googler experience. You should be an experienced generalist, IT and business analyst. You must have the ability and interest to work on a range of different types of projects and business processes, and must have a background that demonstrates this ability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and advise Business, Corporate Engineering, User Experience and other cross-functional teams to design and implement a superior Googler experience for the performance review application.
- Partner with internal business teams in developing delivery roadmaps, defining business processes and associated system requirements.
- Be a key contributor to system implementation projects (requirements documentation, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution).
- Work with People Operations teams to gain first-hand knowledge of their programs and synthesize knowledge into systems improvements.
- Plan, prioritize, and deliver systems enhancements. Support and upgrade implemented systems.
Minimum qualifications- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in implementing and designing HRIS applications.
- Experience with complete software development/deployment lifecycle - analyze, design, build, test, implement, and support.
- Subject matter experience and systems experience in one or more Human Resource domains (e.g. self-service systems, Learning and Development, Total Rewards).
Preferred qualifications- MA/MS degree.
- Experience working with systems that handle sensitive data.
- Successful track record working on cross-functional, cross-team projects.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
- Ability to learn a new business domain and build subject matter expertise in a short period.
- Strong analytical skills.
