Data Analysis and Governance plays a key role in shaping and implementing company-wide Data Excellence initiatives. This high-visibility role affords exposure to our senior executives and ongoing collaboration with the product and engineering teams behind such revolutionary products People You May Know, Endorsements, and Who Viewed My Profile.
Responsibilities:
Ownership: Own and execute measurement and reporting of executive metrics used in external reporting and continually refine measurement methods
Engineering: Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to help build tools to verify proper data tagging, tracking and test coverage
Prototyping: Propose and implement industry best practices in tracking massive data volumes and ensuring data correctness
Basic Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, or related technical field
Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment [Shell Scripting]
Experience with at least one programming language: Java, Python, C/C++ or equivalent
Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, Teradata, etc.). Working knowledge of SQL is desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of industry experience
Fluency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, C/C++ or equivalent
Experience working with distributed computing platform and tools (Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Spark, etc.)
Experience working at a consumer web company with direct involvement in data analysis
Experience with Business Process Improvement
Strong communications skills; not afraid to influence without authority
Driven and self-motivated
Creative, collaborative, tenacious and resourceful
