Job Responsibilities:

The VP Counsel, Compliance is responsible for developing, updating and managing global compliance policies, processes and procedures. The individual will provide leadership, compliance expertise and support to the business units, functions and Centers of Excellence. The Counsel will interface with ADP senior management, business unit management, various ADP corporate functions, outside counsel and vendors.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Draft, update and manage global compliance policies, processes and procedures through collaboration with the business units, functions, Centers of Excellence, Legal and other stakeholders. Incorporate changing laws and regulations into development of policies and procedures. Standardize compliance policies and processes across the company utilizing common templates and automated tools.
- Communicate policies and procedures in coordination with communications and training teams for roll out and implementation. Develop training materials to implement and reinforce policies and procedures. Supports and oversees assessments of policy effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and support on legal compliance matters to the business units, functions and Centers of Excellence. Identify and integrate compliance best practices across the company.
- Monitor and analyze emerging and applicable regulatory developments. Keep abreast of compliance industry standards and benchmarks. Participate in professional organizations and conferences, providing compliance thought leadership.
- Establish effective working relationships with business and function associates including participation in compliance committee meetings.
- Support other Central Compliance initiatives and compliance related needs of the business unit, function and Center of Excellence clients and perform other duties, as assigned.
- Travel of up to 20% may be required.
Experience, Skills, Academic:
Education:- J.D. required.
- Must be admitted to a state bar and in good standing.
Experience:- At least twelve years of corporate legal experience and at least five years of experience dealing with compliance matters and/or ethics is preferred.
- At least five years of experience as in-house counsel (preferably with an international fortune 500 corporation), with experience advising senior and business unit management.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Management experience is preferred.
- Experience drafting corporate policies is preferred.
- Knowledge of human capital management and/or financial services industries, or components thereof, preferred.
General Skills:- Excellent organizational, written and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze and assess new rules and regulations.
- Must be analytical and detailed oriented.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to manage matters and proactively anticipate issues or problems as they arise.
