Our Product Quality Operations team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products like Search, Maps, AdWords and AdSense. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed (read: fast!). As a User Policy Implementation Specialist you defend the integrity of Google, its users and partners worldwide by defining and communicating product policies, fighting spam, fraud, and abuse across Google products (Google Search, Google Maps, AdWords, AdSense, Google Checkout, Google Product Search). You are proactive, motivated, organized, responsible, innovative--and able to work well in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional, and team-oriented environment while demonstrating technical know-how, effective communication and getting things done.



Responsibilities


  • Provide first-level and/or region-specific policy escalation reviews raised by enforcement, product, policy or other teams at Google. Pass informed, principled, consistent verdicts on high profile or gray-area policy escalations.

  • Conceive, launch, and deliver new policy programs to drive efficiency into enforcement operations, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.

  • Implement approved policy changes for new and existing products in production by working in collaboration with cross-functional teams: this includes ensuring that new policies and policy changes migrate through all necessary change management processes on-time and thoroughly (enforcement teams/leads/processes identified, training materials ready, training conducted, website changes live, communications completed, quality checks/other metrics in place, etc).

  • Drive the development and advancement of metrics analysis and data visualization (e.g. dashboards) to drive policy process optimizations.

  • Play a primary role as liaison between product areas and policy enforcement teams to ensure high quality and consistent reviews, including helping to design and conduct training, providing first-responder support to escalations, and bridging feedback from enforcement teams to refine policies.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as a Master's degree.

  • Experience with advanced product and/or program management.

  • Experience working with a broad array of cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Broad policy experience with robust knowledge of the technology sector and the key policy issues affecting the internet like intellectual property, free expression, and online safety.

  • Experience using data and technology to solve complex business problems coupled with a proven ability to exercise judgment even in a crisis.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into simple, clear language.
