As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.



You bring strong retail instincts, sharp analytical abilities, and impeccable oral and written communication skills. You possess a high degree of comfort and flexibility when working cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, engineering, and other teams to develop an innovative user experience. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively to develop new content features and scalable merchandising processes. You bring a proven ability to prioritize, meet critical deadlines, and take on challenging tasks with enthusiasm and a problem-solving mindset.



Responsibilities


  • Exercise your high degree of comfort and flexibility when working cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, engineering, and other teams to develop an innovative user experience.

  • Engage your strong retail instincts, sharp analytical abilities, and impeccable oral and written communication skills.

  • Coordinate and launch effective online features and promotions, leveraging your digital content retailing experience.

  • Build and maintain Google Play's merchandising program on handsets, web and tablets.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • Experience in an editorial/merchandising role for a mobile or online digital content business

  • Knowledge of and experience with online merchandising best practices; ability to advise on strategies and product requirements to enhance platform-level merchandising capabilities

  • Speak and write English and Spanish fluently and idiomatically.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with partners on co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns

  • Industry and product knowledge in Apps/Games, Movies, Music or Books

  • Editorial and creative skills - ability to craft messaging and work with design and production resources to drive creative execution

  • High attention to detail, ability to maintain several different projects simultaneously, while creating precise and effective customer-facing communications

  • Ability to work across functions and divisions and deliver measurable results

  • Analytical skills; ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimize merchandising strategy
