LinkedIn General Counsel
The Role:
Advises LinkedIn’s CEO, Chairman and Board of Directors on all legal matters impacting the company. Provides legal advice and support to the executive staff and across internal departments working in partnership with stakeholders to develop strategy, plans and support models for the legal department to enable LinkedIn’s growth.
Will scale the legal department to meet the demands and needs of the business as the company evolves. Establishes clearly defined department and individual team goals leading a culture of collaboration and high performance within the legal team.
Provides legal guidance to the compliance function and seeks to ensure that LinkedIn conducts its business according to applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Represents the Company before all legal forums including governmental and regulatory agencies, courts. Ensures LinkedIn conducts its business according to applicable federal, state and local geography laws and regulations including employment law issues.
Represents the company before all legal forums including governmental and regulatory agencies, courts and arbitration bodies. Provides direction and has oversight for all government reviews. Oversees all required regulatory filings and legal document production. Assists in the oversight and direction of internal audits.
Experience and Desired Skills:
- Proven track record of maintaining highest integrity
- 15 plus years experience as a senior legal officer in a global organization
- Proven track record as General Counsel with a public company
- Experience in hyper-growth environments
- Successful track record in areas such as corporate law, corporate governance, M&A, securities/capital markets, etc.
- Has managed various legal activities including regulatory, litigation, corporate/commercial transactions and M&A matters
- Experience in high tech
- Expertise in the internet space
