The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with strong day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.



The Customer Research and Insights team represents the voice of AdWords SMB (Small and Medium-sized Businesses) advertisers to internal stakeholders. As Survey Research Lead, you will use your research and statistical analysis skills to monitor and elucidate the experience of SMB advertisers worldwide. You’ll also be responsible for designing and conducting program evaluation research, primarily of global programs aimed at improving the customer experience.



Responsibilities


  • Design, field and analyze surveys to deepen understanding of small businesses and analyze relationships between experiences, attitudes and behaviors.

  • Prioritize and communicate customer needs, make recommendations for product or process changes and influence various audiences.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional partners as necessary.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of work experience in survey research, with experience in survey sampling, question design, and analysis best practices.

  • Experience in statistics and experience in one statistical software package (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata, SAS).





  • Preferred qualifications

  • PhD in a discipline emphasizing quantitative research methods.

  • Experience in 2 of the following areas: psychometrics analysis, longitudinal analysis, survey nonresponse analysis, and validity/reliability analysis.

  • Experience with a programming language.

  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a proven track record of driving results.

  • Strong understanding of strengths and limitations of different research methods, as well as excellent working knowledge of the principles of experimental design.
