Global Corporate Services (GCS) manages many of the shared services and financial functions for salesforce.com including but not limited to all of Procure-to-Pay, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Travel & Expense. The Strategy, Reporting and Operations team manages all operational aspects of the GCS group, including functions such as Purchasing and SRM as well as support through metrics, data analytics, project management, systems and policies.
The Senior Finance Analyst will have primary responsibility for creating, refining and managing a portfolio of metrics for management and operational reporting. The analyst will perform ongoing and ad hoc analysis for the group, contribute to cross-functional operational initiatives and be heavily relied on to prepare executive presentations. It will support the Sourcing team with preparing Board Approvals, deal analysis and other requests.
The role will report to the Sr. Director of SRO within GCS. Salesforce.com is a fast-paced environment and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running to manage multiple responsibilities and projects while producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage GCS metrics, including responsibility for all data sources, content, methodologies, calculations, preparation and publishing.
- Manage the annual GCS budget process, workforce planning efforts, and other finance projects on behalf of the GCS organization
- Partner with the outsourced team with generation of their metrics and ad hoc queries.
- Manage ad hoc queries on behalf of the GCS organization or broader organization to support deal economics and other decision-making
- Partner with the GCS team to establish targets for their KPIs and drive toward achievement.
- Provide analysis on results to explain peaks and valleys, identify potential issues and provide actionable steps to address.
- Prepare presentations for the team and senior management highlighting performance in an easy-to-understand, executive-ready manner.
- Compile metrics for other recurring requests, such as executive management reporting, Finance & Strategy reporting and others.
- Complete projects and initiatives as identified through a quarterly prioritization process and share updates and results via Chatter and/or team meeting.
- Identify areas of improvement to increase accuracy, completeness and/or consistency and implement solutions in process, policy, and overall operations of the GCS finance function.
Required Experience / Skills:
- Bachelors’ degree in business discipline
- MBA preferred
- 4+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years of finance, data analytics and/or business analyst experience.
- Management Consulting experience preferred
- Understanding of Procure-to-Pay functional disciplines (purchasing, accounts payable, strategic sourcing)
- Knowledge of Business Systems ( Salesforce.com , Oracle and Coupa a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and macros
- Proficient with Microsoft Powerpoint and Access
- Able to think independently and consider cross-functional and downstream impacts
- Acute attention to detail
- Natural curiosity and desire to understand complex data sets
- Project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
