Data Analytics Consultant

London, United Kingdom, GB - Computer Software, Information Technology and Services, Internet

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a leading global provider of cross-channel digital marketing solutions that empower organizations of all sizes to communicate with their customers through email, mobile, social media, Web and marketing automation. We’re driven by a deep understanding of marketers’ needs—because we’re marketers too. No other digital marketing company invests in product innovation the way we do, giving our clients access to truly cutting-edge technology.

About the Position

If you possess equal parts Stats Geek and Data Nerd (ie Analytics Ninja) combined with a consultative approach that brightens the esoteric for all to understand, enjoy, and actually do something with (take action upon!), we want to hear from you. If you also fancy working with a cracker-jack team of professionals, and within an organizational culture whose vibe and benefits are second to few (not none, because that's too stuffy), you'd be off your rocker not to inquire.

Analytical/statistical software programs (SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau…) are amongst your closest friends – you suffer withdrawal when without them for even moderate stretches – and you have a strong technical acumen (SQL, Python…) at your core. No variable set intimidates you, no volume of rows causes your eyes to roll (to the contrary, in fact). Experience across a variety of digital marketing channels lies at your foundation; how/if they all play well together piques your interest.

We need someone who can reside both in the trees and the forest; who has the technical chops to obtain and manipulate large and diverse data sets; a vault of statistical knowledge to determine which techniques applied will cull out hot insights, and which are best to determine testing significance (is it z-score or t-statistic?); who has a business/marketing acumen, an insatiable intellectual curiosity, a drive to drive the conversation (not merely react to it), and someone who can deliver compelling content to the best and brightest at the greatest brands on the globe. With a smile on your face.

Requirements

• Advanced degree preferred in field dealing with business or quantitive analysis (STEM, Business/Marketing, Social Sciences); Bachelor's degree required

• Heavy experience in data analytics (5+ years) - knowledge of varied analytical techniques and data manipulation tools applied to data of all shapes and sizes, as described below:

• Proficiency in SPSS, R, SAS, STATA or similar statistics processor, or expert Excel knowledge (e.g. VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros/VBA, array functions) is required.

• Proficiency with general scripting tools (Python, Ruby, perl) for data cleaning and file management is preferred.

• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or Alteryx or front-end web design is preferred.

• Experience querying and managing large datasets (10 GB+) is highly preferred. Experience with Hadoop and distributed processing is a strong plus.

• Proven experience using your analytical ninja tools to discover customer behavior insights - across a variety of channels

• Experience in 1:1 digital marketing and interactive analytics

• Ability to translate analytical insight into actionable recommendations; to weave a story together that is digestible and resonates with diverse audiences (proficiency in PowerPoint is required)

• Ability to learn quickly and use cutting-edge tools to solve business problems at massive scale

• Ridiculous intellectual curiosity - ambition that propels you to constantly scan the universe of available data, seek to obtain it, wrestle it into submission, join it with other sources, and answer questions nobody has even asked. Except you.
