Role Overview:
The pre-sales Principal Consultant works within our Professional Services business unit and is responsible for helping our customers solve their IT business needs (infrastructure solutions, applications and/or process designs). This is a senior, pre-sales, customer facing role. The role is “outcome” based, results driven and requires a track record in delivering large IT infrastructure programs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Acts as the Services solution owner in Pre-Sales and contributes to the sales pursuit strategy
- Supports deal negotiation and closure to include transition support to service delivery
- Manages sales and customers of critical importance to Dell, involving acquisition of new business
- Leads the development of the solution (sometimes using expertise from other disciplines) – including solution design, scope documents, risk profile, and corresponding financials
- Participates or leads in customer presentations at the senior leadership level and ensures understanding of technical matters by non-technical, executive decision makers
- Advises and councils key leadership on the latest principles, practices, and/or technologies and their practical application and mentors less experienced team members
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience of acting as a solution lead, solution architect or CTO in large infrastructure program (within the last 2 years)
- Fluent English and French
- Subject matter expert in at least one service area or technology (end user, data center, cloud) and proficient in multiple service areas and technologies
- Thorough understanding of a services P&L and cash flow development (including business impact)
- In-depth knowledge of assessing operational risk on profitability and impacts to service delivery
Desirable Requirements:
- Ability to construct, tailor, and negotiate service contracts (e.g. Statements of Work) for both customer engagement and partner provisioning
- Experience of an industry standard Architecture / Solution framework, such as TOGAF / Zachmann
