Program Manager, Agile Product Data Systems

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.



As a Product Data Management (PDM) Program Manager in the Consumer Hardware Supply Chain Organization, you will be the primary interface for Product and Engineering teams for change management activities, ensuring the release milestone are met to achieve product launch dates. You will be the lead and the focal point of contact driving change management process and associated workflows from request to implementation.



As a recognized expert in the field of Product Lifecycle Management you will work across IT and Supply Chain teams in identifying and driving PDM process improvements and system enhancements. You will be a key member in developing and institutionalizing operational metrics that drive Google and it’s business partners to meet cost, delivery and quality objectives.



Responsibilities


  • Program manage PDM system and business process enhancements.

  • Own and project manage the creation and processing of Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Manufacturer Change Orders, Deviations and Configuration Management activities by applying best practices of PDM principles during the support of New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining efforts.

  • Manage cross-functional PDM Change Control Boards (CCBs) that develop and approve engineering change requests. Project manage and document the implementation of change requests.

  • Help with implementation of processes, managing workflows and overall PDM integration with internal customers and external partners (suppliers, construction partners, installers, etc.).

  • Maintain and publish functional key performance indicators to internal stakeholders.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering/Operations or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of industry experience in one or more of the following fields: Product Data Management, New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing operations, development or operations engineering.

  • Direct experience managing product changes in a PLM environment such as Agile, Windchill or equivalent.

  • Experience in program managing the scoping and delivery PDM system implementation.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working on hardware products defining Bill of Materials structures.

  • Strong computer applications skills and excellent attention to detail; quick learner with creative problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Capability to think strategically, balancing a broad range of internal and external factors when identifying problems, proposing solutions, and making decisions.

  • An excellent communicator of project requirements and schedules.
