The Oracle SAN System is a highly available, highly scalable, multi-protocol, storage server. The Platform Software Group performs a diversified role that is pivotal to the Oracle SAN storage product. The group is responsible for a number of drivers and systems level services layered on top of the OS for the Oracle SAN line of storage products. The Operating Systems used include Oracle Linux and QNX; drivers include those used for internode communications (over various technologies including FC, SAS, IB); services include high-availability, logging, memory management, diagnostics, etc. Most engineers in the group have a strong knowledge of systems software, and have the willingness and capability of diving into various areas of code. At one end of the spectrum the group is responsible for the boot loader used in the product; at the other end it is responsible for packaging and delivering the image that runs on the Oracle SAN product.
