Google has an opening for a Facilities Manager for our London offices to join the Real Estate and Workplace Services Organization. You will manage the daily operations in a local setting, which include managing all operational office services and the employee perks program. You will assist in cultivating a collaborative, friendly and fun work environment that fosters innovation and productivity. You are motivated by autonomy and ownership, yet keen to report to other staff at all stages.



Responsibilities


  • Oversee property management services including: maintenance of building and mechanical systems, oversee leases and local authority engagement, janitorial service and supplies, health and safety and other associated changes in a demanding environment.

  • Manage outsourced facilities services vendor; ensuring best practices are being created by using and testing Google products.

  • Manage facilities operating budget, vendor service contracts and formal procurement processes, including obtaining vendor price quotes, preparing contracts and purchase orders, reviewing and approving invoices.

  • Plan and manage delivery of daily office activities, programs, and service objectives in a local/regional setting in collaboration with functional teams. Act as on-site liaison during planning and construction of office expansions and be responsible for space planning, tracking, move coordination, and new hire space accommodations.

  • Build strong relationships and partner with employees at all levels to enhance the end user experience, including speaking to large internal groups. Effectively communicate departmental mission and strategies to executive management and work cross-functionally with other internal support organizations, such as IT, HR, Finance and Legal to ensure cohesive delivery of services.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Written and spoken fluency in English.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • Significant experience of combined facilities management and service experience with an emphasis on facilities, hospitality, property management or equivalent office management experience with a large organisation.

  • Experience managing outsourced facilities services vendors across a multi-site platform with a track record of developing service streams.

  • Experience developing and managing budgets with strong financial, contract management and purchasing skills. Proficient in the use of common business software programs; familiarity with Google applications.

  • Solid operational facilities and property management experience together with the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Understanding and knowledge of industry trends and direction.

  • Excellent customer service and people skills and ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations. Solid experience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.

  • Knowledge of property management, building maintenance, leases and construction terms and practices. Proven record of effecting strategic change and initiatives where prudent.
