Product Counsel

You will provide legal support to LinkedIn’s product team to ensure that LinkedIn can continue to lawfully provide products and services that help connect the world’s professionals to make them more successful and productive. You will be working with the existing legal team, provide day-to-day advice and counsel to business units regarding a variety of compliance issues, controls, training and logistics. You will work in a fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative and motivated team legal team that values humor and team work.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all LinkedIn products are compliant with applicable laws and regulations relating to consumer protection, content regulation, security and privacy.
• Counsel and advise LinkedIn's Product team on product-related legal issues, questions and requests.
• Support clear and consistent disclosures to our members that enable them to make informed choices about privacy and other terms of service.
• Manage applicable outside counsel assisting with the above legal compliance issues.

Required Education and Experience:
• At least 4 years of experience in privacy and/or product law
• J.D. and admission to California Bar required
• Experience with client counseling Web 2.0 products is required, including issues of privacy, intellectual property and consumer rights.
• In-house experience preferred
• Top law firm experience strongly preferred
• Top 20 law school strongly preferred
• International experience a plus
* Non-English (e.g. Chinese) language skills desirable but not required
