Recognized earlier this year as one of Salesforce.com Named One of FORTUNE’S “100 Best Companies to Work For” , we are seeking an experienced, energetic sales engineering performer who is looking to focus their skills to drive the effective use of technology for social benefit. The Senior Sales Engineer works with Foundation Account Executives on new and existing accounts. Ideal candidates have previous experience working with CRM or related applications in a customer facing role, and have the ability to effectively communicate the value of Salesforce.com 's solutions (both functionally and technically) to prospective customers. This includes the ability to uncover business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, and create and effectively demonstrate solutions that address customer requirements. This role works in a fast-paced high-energy market segment and candidates should be able to successfully balance multiple projects in a team-selling environment.



:: Responsibilities:

· Understand higher education customer goals and challenges and establish salesforce.com 's product as the best solution available

· Build and present customized demonstrations



· Present salesforce.com technology infrastructure, including demonstrating deep familiarity with hardware, software, networking and security stack



· Participate in all product, sales, and process training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective



· Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management



· Respond effectively to RFPs



:: Required Skills/Experience:




  • Deep knowledge of Higher Education market, having sold into or worked in the vertical

  • An entrepreneurial resolve with the ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic sales environment

  • Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and web technology

  • Programming experience in HTML and other web based technologies

  • Previous experience as a sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology

  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with the Force.com platform a plus

  • Ability to travel domestically
