This position will require up to 50% regional and international travel. This technical consultancy role will be focused on extending our capabilities and working on ground breaking, innovative service opportunities for end-to-end optimization of enterprise infrastructure solutions, with particular focus and depth in data center facilities assessment, conceptual design, design/build, and commissioning.
Maintain broad based technical and solutions knowledge in key data center infrastructure optimization and solution areas:
· Data Center Facilities Efficiency: engineering design/layout, power and cooling, energy efficiency, operations best practices.
· Data Center strategy, capacity, migration/consolidation
· Platform Optimization: virtualization (VMware, MSFT, Xen, etc); OS:Windows/Linux; platform migration: Unix to Linux, etc.
· Data Management: storage optimization, consolidation, data protection
· Services Management: ITIL v3 processes, best practices; virtualization/cloud transformation
· Network Optimization
· Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery
Serve as a recognized subject matter expert with deep expertise in data center facility optimization. This would include ability to lead large projects for Data Center Strategy, Capacity Planning, Facilities Modeling, Power and Thermal Modeling, Energy Efficiency, High Density Computing, Conceptual Design, Engineering Design, DC Construction/Fit Out, Operational Processes, and Commissioning. Will also be able to orchestrate and develop pre-sales and delivery of holistic data center optimization and transformation solutions for large enterprise customers. Successful candidate will have performed numerous data center facilities plans, assessments, designs, and build outs including program/project management oversight. Recent experience should include work on high density DC solutions for virtualization/cloud computing infrastructure. Proven experience in providing sale and delivery of assessment services, development of business cases, design solution architecture, and multi-phased, complex migration programs that address technology, people/organization, and process change.
Work closely with sales to assist in business development and pre-sales opportunities for consulting-led solutions. Design and implement infrastructure solutions for early adopter and strategic Dell customers. Assist in identifying new and improved consulting methods, approaches, tools, templates and delivery guides. Maintain contact and build relationship with customer executives and lead architects to ensure continual customer satisfaction.
We’re looking for a data center infrastructure solutions subject matter expert with the following skills:
Data Center Facilities Technical skills:
· Experience in design and/or construction environment on fast track mission critical facilities.
· Experience in design, construction, commissioning and operation of some or all of:
o Electrical: UPS; medium and low voltage switch gear; diesel emergency generators; automatic and static transfer switches; transformers; variable speed drives; controls; security monitoring and life safety systems;
o Mechanical: generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, water treatment and pumping systems, mechanical system controls and life safety systems.
· Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including Uptime Standards, TIA/EIA, BICSI, LEED, IEEE, NFPA, local country codes, as well as vendors and technologies as they relate to the data center facilities
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and having ability of using Sketch-Up or 3DMAX is preferred.
· Experience in developing data center facilities design implementation, undertaking large-scale data center design from concept to detailed design phase, utilizing energy efficient approaches and best practices for optimized data center TCO.

· Articulate the advantages of data center optimization and technology solutions as well as explain the competitive advantage and ROI achieved through various alternatives
· Able to persuade at CxO levels of customer organizations
· Strong group facilitation and white boarding capabilities
· Consultative selling and customer relationship management
· Superb visual and writing skills – able to delineate concise and structured recommendations for total solutions as well as simplifying systems architecture
· Dynamic and engaging presentation style that commands respect, inspires confidence and earns trust
· Consulting sales and delivery expertise and the ability to mentor less experienced consultants in a highly decentralized and customer facing environment.
· Absolute confidence with technical architecture, practical adaptation and implementation, functional deployment and business ROI focused areas of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
· Experienced presentation skills with advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
· Financial fluency which includes working with ROI, cost analysis, and financial statements.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· 8+ years direct experience; 10+ years related experience
· BS and/or MA in related field expected – Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; certifications highly regarded;
· Licensed or Chartered Professional Engineer certification preferred
· Certification to Uptime’s Accredited Tier Specialist(ATS), Accredited Tier Designer(ATD), Certified Data Center Specialist (CDCS)/Expert (CDCE) or equivalent
· Strong command of English. Strong command of local country primary language. Additional languages highly regarded.
