Job Description
Dell Service Federal Government is looking for at tech savvy Systems Intergration Sr Advisor to provide IT services to a large federal health customer. The engineer will provide support in configuring and administering HP Service Manager 9.x to help customers manage IT Service Management processes. The candidates must be comfortable troubleshooting, configuring and tailoring Service Manager 9.x products. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) along with excellent technical skills are a must. Candidates must be comfortable with minimal supervision while maintaining discipline and focus on job requirements and client satisfaction.

Required Skills
* Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents, as well as fulfilling user requests
* Reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service issues are identified and resolved within
established SLAs
* Responding to database related alerts and escalations, and working with infrastructure, engineering & business applications teams to come up with strategic
solutions to recurring problems.
* Support database environment monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching.
* Study existing processes and systems and recommend methods for improving efficiency and process automation, including integration of third-party tools and
Perl/Shell scripting.
* Determine user needs, act as technical consultant, and support applications groups with project development, testing and implementation of applications running on
database environments (Service Manager 9.x database, Application Servers, MySQL, MS SQL, Apache).
* Develop and improve existing support processes, including creation of documentation and training.
* Perform monthly, quarterly, yearly database refreshes to support financial reporting.
* Act as lead in projects supporting above responsibilities, including interfacing across functional groups in support of department wide projects.
* Provide 24x7 on-call support as well as respond to escalated issues from tier 1 support.

Candidate must possess extensive DBA expertise in relational design. Database skills include configuration, performance tuning, logging, backup/recovery, task
automation and troubleshooting. 24X7 high availability design skills are desirable. Demonstrate success in real-time data infrastructures that process large volumes of
data.
The position requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues,
establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers, adhering to and enforcing change control processes in deploying production changes and
proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
