Lead the evolution of Chain Revenue Management for the Walmart team by augmenting existing capabilities around price analytics, pricing strategy and tactical pricing. Position MillerCoors as the #1 adult beverage partner for Walmart’s strategic and tactical pricing needs by leveraging Revenue Based Selling (RBS) concepts to drive sales, share and profitability expansion.Posting Job DescriptionLeadership:
- Set vision and roadmap for the Walmart team’s pricing function
- Manage 2 full-time direct reports, including workload management, team process improvement, and recurring coaching sessions
- Manage 3rd party relationships for vendor managed pricing systems
- Develop organizational pricing best practices and lead RBS training solutions content development and delivery for Chain Academies
- Build organizational and functional credibility with Walmart Director of Beer and Buyer teams: position MillerCoors as the “go-to” beer supplier
Pricing Strategy and Analytics:
- Deploy best-in-class pricing analytics and models by 1) leveraging 3 rd party solutions (e.g.: Nielsen Strat Planner) and 2) using Walmart internal, syndicated and MillerCoors data to formulate proprietary analytics
- Structure easy-to-understand and actionable pricing recommendations to complex business problems for Walmart Team Leadership and NAEs
- Build recurring pricing dashboards that give compelling, insightful recommendations both internally and externally on competitive landscape, product line pricing (gaps/curves) and profit/sales/share opportunities (i.e. margin blending)
- Develop reproducible models that give Customer and MillerCoors visibility to price elasticities, cross-elasticities and optimal price gaps
Tactical Pricing and Systems:
- Exceed Walmart’s needs for on-time, accurate tactical pricing support
- Ensure strong rigor, rhythm and accuracy for distributor catalogues and pricing inputs to maximize product delivery and reduce OOS
- Increase distributor pricing compliance and efficiency through ad-hoc and periodic education, reporting and analytical tools
- Provide actionable pricing reports and analytical tools to MillerCoors NAEs to maximize their ability to sell beer
- Manage all aspects of vendor managed and centralized replenishment pricing efforts by collaborating with 3rd party software providers (Park City Group and Pricing Gateway) and internal stakeholders (BIS, Retail Solutions, Procurement, sales teams) on systematic improvements that drive organizational goals
