Oracle Managed Cloud Services Project Manager/Transition Manager

Location: Reading

 

Oracle Managed Cloud Services (OMCS) enable organizations to leverage their Oracle investments to extend into the cloud with greater value, choice, and confidence. Oracle delivers enterprise-grade, end-to-end managed cloud services across its broad portfolio of business applications, middleware, database, and hardware technologies.

OMCS are responsible for the hosting and ongoing management/maintenance of Customer IT systems hosted either in one of Oracle's datacentres (@Oracle) or at a customer or third party location (@Customer). The Transition Management team are highly skilled technical project managers who are responsible for transitioning new customers into the OMCS service, or managing major change/upgrade activities for existing OMCS customers.

Job Description
You will manage the OMCS Pre-Production project lifecycle from contract signing through to Transition into OMCS Production, building strong relationships internally within OMCS Delivery across Oracle LOB’s and externally at both departmental and board level within client organisations.


You must possess the ability to successfully deliver single large projects or a number of smaller projects against time, quality and financial objectives. Working closely with Service Delivery Managers (SDM), Operations Managers (ODOC), Implementers, 3rdParties, the Customer and other members of the OMCS Delivery organisation deliver projects in a Project/Programme Management capacity for EMEA OMCS customers.


Distinguishing Characteristics:
You will have 5-10 years Project/Programme Management experience and have a track record in delivering large-scale OMCS or Oracle Applications projects to demanding customers. It would be an advantage if applicants were to come with experience from a Consulting or similar organisation within the IT industry.


Key Responsibilities


Scope
• Manage designated OMCS Projects
• No direct reports, but project manage a virtual team of OMCS technical resources
• Work closely with country based OMCS Sales and Service Delivery Managers
• Work as required with designated Oracle Customers, Implementers, Partners and 3rd parties
• Work on OMCS Delivery service improvement initiatives as required


Accountabilities


• Review OMCS Proposals and Contracts to ensure a thorough understanding of the customer requirements
• Produce Project Scope Objectives and Approach that outline the Project Management processes
• Generate & manage work plan, key deliverables, resources required, roles and responsibilities, risks, issues and dependencies according to OMCSs standards
• Produce regular and accurate progress reports to the Customer
• Plan and manage face-to-face Customer meetings as required through the lifecycle
• Generate Change Request Forms as required and obtain appropriate customer approval
• Generate Customer Acceptance Criteria and ensure receipt of Acceptance Certificate(s)
• Operate in line with Global/EMEA OMCS organisations processes and procedures


Responsibilities


• When required participate in pre-sales activities to ensure they reflect realistic project delivery
• Generate a Project Plan for each project which fully reflects OMCS requirements
• Communicate the plan and gain customer and third party buy-in and agreement
• Drive the implementation of the Project Plan
• Provide leadership, motivation and direction for the Project Team
• Monitor and report the progress against the Project Plan
• Manage Oracle’s commercial project responsibilities as appropriate to specific project circumstances
• Manage changes to the Project Plan
• Identify and communicate to the SDM any opportunities for new business
• Ensure the lessons learnt on any Project are communicated within Oracle and continuous improvement actions are defined.
