Job Description
This job family is for external, customer-facing project and program manager jobs. These are individual contributor jobs that align to Project Management Institute (PMI) roles. A project manager within this family defines the value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline and budget for projects. They also manage matrixed resources (i.e. capital requirements and human capital) to achieve the project objectives on time, within scope, and on budget. A program manager within this family plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of matrixed individuals working on the projects within the assigned program. They are responsible for managing related projects in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them separately. They may also be responsible for coordinating multiple project managers dedicated to a common project or a small number of large/highly complex customer projects/deliverables.
Required Skills
- Project management experience working directly with the Army
- Knowledge of the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP)
- Working knowledge of Medium Data Rate Satellite terminals
- Must have a Active Current Secret and the ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
Desired Skills
- Prior military
- Training manager skills for IT MOSs
Education
Experience
Typically requires at least 8 years relevant experience without a Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree; 2+ years relevant experience with Graduate Degree
