Job Description
Dell Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary Dell Services Federal Government seeks a qualified Network Support Senior Advisor to support a Global Travel Management and Development program in Alexandria, VA. The Network Support Senior Advisor will be responsible for providing technical support and analysis for network systems and components, LAN/WAN communications, and transmission systems. This is a great opportunity for individuals with past experience to gain experience working on Government Network administration and to join a cutting edge team. The main function is to perform installation, modification, testing, and servicing on all converged network communications equipment. The right individual will need to be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities include:
* Conducts feasibility studies on strategic and tactical plans, design of digital/analog networks, and evaluation of network services/technology for current and future network development.
* Performs complex technical analysis of software, hardware, and network systems, systems integration for front-end processors, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems.
* Resolving and supporting hardware and software related issues within the network and workstations (includes fax machines, copiers, printers, monitors, voip phones, IPTV, VTC, conference phones, blackberries, hot spots, USB aircards, SABRE software, Tableau, MS applications
* Support training/classes/presentations by setting up workstations and web cams ( Web conference, website testing and configuration)
* Provide technical support for remote access issues (VPN, personal home use workstations to access the network and home network issues)
* Maintain and update hardware inventory (includes toner inventory, VOIP user numbers, VOIP Port numbers and equipment turn in)
* Create and test thinclient application for deployment to users (includes updating applications to current software version)
* Blackberry administration (includes adding/removing/disabling of accounts, testing of policies and blackberry deployments)
* Provide training and instructions for network safety, information assurance and general computer/network information
* Create and update user accounts on the Intranet (including adding access and disabling access)
* Create ticket and call vendor for repair or replace warranty issued equipment
* Management of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure ""DJAM"
Required Skills
* 5 + years experience Windows Server and Operating Systems
* 5 + years client facing Customer Service experience
* 2 + years experience with VMWare
* 1 + years experience with either Blackberry, iPhone or android administration (Blackberry preferred)
* 2 + years of experience with LAN/WAN Communications
* 2 + years experience with Active Directory management (disabling accounts, creating user profiles, cleaning up inactive users and groups)
* Must have Active Top Secret Clearance
* Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills
* 2 + years experience with Unix/Linux
* 2 + years experience with Oracle 11g
* 2 + Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Intranet, LAN Administration, Network Administration, Network Interface, Network Operating Systems, Network Security, Network Vulnerability Assessment.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Technology or equivalent experience
Experience
Typically requires at least 10 years relevant experience without a Degree; 4+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with Graduate Degree
