Sustaining Engineeringis a global organization,available 24x7 with members in four world wide centers.Sustaining Engineering is part of Server Technology (ST) in Oracle that isresponsible for fixing product defects and delivering high quality fixes in FusionMiddleware products such as Oracle JDev/ADF & Oracle Business Intelligence(BI).
Brief Description
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
Detailed Description
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Job Requirements
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

To avail this unique opportunity, excellent command over core Java, Multi-threaded programming, proven diagnostic and debugging skills are essential.The main aspect of this job is to resolve Customer issues that arise against the product. As part of this job, you will also participate in design reviews of new features in a Supportability and Maintainability advocate role. You will also be encouraged to propose and implement diagnostic tools to enable more effective problem resolution. In all aspects of job responsibilities, you will be working as a member of a team dedicated to meeting the technical challenges of responding to real-world issues on highly complex systems.In addition to product knowledge, you will gain knowledge about customer deployments.
Essential Skills:
· At least 5 years of experience
· Strong knowledge in core Java (e.g.Applets, Swing, JDBC, Serialization I/O,Collections)
· Strong knowledge of Design Patterns and OOPs concepts
· Strong knowledge of Operating System concepts (e.g.Linux, Windows)
· Strong knowledge of J2EE (Servlets, JSP, XML, XSL,JMS, JMX, EJB HTML, SOAP,WebServices, Weblogic Server, Shell Scripting)
· Strong knowledge of multi threading
· Strong debugging skills on an IDE like JDEVELOPER or ECLIPSE
· Strong knowledge of an application server like Weblogic Server
· Strong knowledge of Database and SQL
· Ability to understand complex code very quickly
· Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies
· Having strong focus on customer satisfaction
· Must be able to multi-task and deal with changing priorities
· Excellent team player capable of working well in and across teams
· Great communications skills
