Job Description
Configure, manage and support the hardware, operating systems and virtualized instances of Net servers and their related services. These include, but are not limited to, servers using stand alone, clustered, blade and virtual technologies. Other duties include:
Build, test and deliver production-ready servers in accordance with approved baseline configurations. The servers shall meet the stated requirements and be provided in the requested timeframe(s) required and following the Change Management process.
Support the server infrastructure through maintenance, repair and administration of all server hardware and software operating systems in the operations environment, in coordination with the approved maintenance and administration plan. Support should include but not be limited to stand alone, clustered, blade and virtual technologies
Provide support and repair for peripherals associated with servers in the operational environment.
Manage server images and baseline documentation and provide that information when requested.
Continuously monitor the availability of NARA infrastructure for all locations using furnished monitoring tools.
Provide documented processes that will be used to govern overall management of the server infrastructure as identified in the deliverables section.
Provide reports related to the management of the server infrastructure.
Maintain and operate servers and related systems and software to meet and exceed defined performance requirements.
Configure, manage and support all virtualized environments
Perform other duties are requested which may include performing system administration and Tier II support as part of the service desk queue. Be willing and available to work in excess of 40 hours per week, as required. Provide after hours and on-call support as needed.
Required Skills
The server environment is a heterogeneous mix of hardware vendors and operating systems. Qualified candidate must have experience with administration of windows server operating systems (i.e. 2003 and 2008). Candidate must be willing to work as part of a blended team and add additional expertise through training to support additional OS that are currently deployed or will be deployed in the future.

Typically requires at least 8 years relevant experience without a Degree; 3+ years relevant experience with Undergraduate Degree; 2+ years relevant experience with Graduate Degree
Experience
6 years of general IT experience including 3 years of relevant experience.
