LinkedIn’s Business Development team is responsible for driving growth, engagement, and monetization globally by identifying, executing, and managing partnerships and strategic initiatives. We are looking for a Business Development lead to manage LinkedIn’s relationships with 3rd party developers that leverage LinkedIn’s developer platform.
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about how 3rd parties can leverage the power of LinkedIn to create valuable services, is able to develop a deep understanding of LinkedIn’s products and services, and who excels at the type of strategic thinking that can help identify win/win scenarios for both LinkedIn’s members and partners. This person will be a key member of LinkedIn’s Business Development team and will be expected to help shape the future of LinkedIn’s 3rd party developer platform in a way that supports LinkedIn’s goal of creating the world’s first economic graph.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the products and services of potential partners who seek to leverage LinkedIn’s open developer Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs) to ensure that each potential partner’s products create value for LinkedIn’s members and developer ecosystem
- Monitor the ongoing usage of LinkedIn’s APIs by 3rd party developers to ensure that each developer is continuing to create value for key stakeholders and is using the platform in a manner that is consistent with LinkedIn’s terms of service
- Work with LinkedIn’s Developer Relations team to provide a point of contact for 3rd party developers on any ad hoc issues that might arise, synthesize input and develop solutions that benefit all parties
- Capture and synthesize insights from LinkedIn’s open developer program and deliver these insights to the relevant Product and Engineering leads in an effort to improve LinkedIn’s platform offerings
- Work with LinkedIn’s Business and Corporate Development leads to identify opportunities for deeper partnerships with high-potential 3rd party developers
- Develop processes and systems to manage LinkedIn’s 3rd party developer platform in an efficient and scalable manner
- Develop and maintain dashboard and metrics to better understand the value that 3rd party developers are creating by leveraging LinkedIn’s developer platform
- Support deal execution with partners, as needed
- Proactively develop a deep understanding of the key players and industry dynamics in the consumer Internet, Software as a Service, and Mobile landscapes

Requirements:
- Minimum 3-6 years of work experience; experience in an analyst program of a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank, venture capital firm or private equity firm is strongly preferred
- Experience in Business Development or Corporate Development at a top technology firm is preferred
- Some deal execution experience is preferred
- Experience with the consumer Internet, Software as a Service, and/or mobile spaces is preferred
- Excellent project management capabilities, demonstrated in a past work experience
- Undergraduate degree; degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred
- Comfort with analytical and data analysis tools, including Excel, is required
- Sound business judgment
- Ability to work independently across multiple groups in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables
