Software Sales Engineer

The Presales Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide pre sales technical assistance necessary to achieve the region’s quota. The coverage required by the candidate include Singapore as the base and South Asia wide opportunities with coverage across all segments including both commercial and public segments.



Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Sales Engineers are responsible for demonstrating the Dell Endpoint Systems Management product lines and actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. Sales Engineers also must be able to provide technical close for given sales opportunity by guiding and providing the customer(s) and partners with appropriate technology solution & training.



The Sales Engineer must be able to deliver a solution-driven presentation to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process including technical discussions, influencing, presentations, demos and POCs. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. In addition, the Sales Engineer is will manage regional channel and distribution partners, including product training and pre-sales support.



Qualifications



Required




  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server OS platforms & Desktop Platforms (Win2k3,NT/2000 server, Win7,8, NT/2000/XP workstation, 9x).

  • Troubleshooting experience.

  • Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

  • Highly motivated and posses excellent work ethics, energy, initiative and a team attitude.

  • Presentation skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts visually and verbally.

  • Strong written communication skills and customer service skills are also required.

  • The ability to communicate technical functionality into Business benefits and ROI.

  • Software Distribution, Patch Management and OS Imaging knowledge and experience

  • Service Desk/Helpdesk knowledge and experience




Strong Advantage




  • Networking: working knowledge of routers, hubs and switches.

  • The SE should have knowledge of network infrastructures to better facilitate a successful implementation for the customer.

  • Linux/Unix skills

  • In depth knowledge of TCP/IP and DHCP theories and implementation

  • Macintosh/Linux Platform knowledge

  • Have experience using existing solutions such as SCCM/LANDesk/BMC Software/Symantec Altiris/VMWare/Citrix.

  • •Virtualization (especially VDI) knowledge and experience




Other Requirements:




  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in IT industry

    Minimum of 5-6 years experience in software industry

    Work experience dealing with Small, Medium and Large enterprise customers
