Channel Sales Engineer I - North East, Italy

The Sales Engineer provides pre-sales technical support to field sales teams during the sales process. Accountable for the technical validity and interoperability of solution and the direct relationship with the customers’ strategic business plans.



Principal Accountabilities:



· This position defines the overall Dell solution for the customer and makes presentations on all aspects of company products and services.

· Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products and services to meet customer needs.

· Prepares detailed product specifications for the purpose of selling high end product and solutions.

· Conducts customer needs analysis.

· Provides project scoping.

· Coordinates internal specialists and inter-department activities.

· Assists sellers in creating demand for product.

· Requires a high degree of technical competency to respond to customer needs and to discuss product capabilities and applications with technical users/buyers.

· Customarily and regularly engaged at client facilities and delivers high impact presentations leveraging strong technical skills.



Qualifications:

· Education: University Graduate

· 5+ years in a related Pre-sales / support role

· Good working knowledge of datacenter power and power management

· Good working knowledge of storage technologies and storage system interfaces

· 3+ years experience with UNIX, Linux, NT/Windows Server or other Operating Systems

· Some project / program management experience

· Excellent knowledge of competing solutions

· Fluent English

  • Self-starter - good motivation for self-directed time and activities

  • Technical acumen - stay abreast of latest product details and roadmap in order to engage as and when required with customers

  • Technical and Communication Skills - Very strong analytical skills coupled with an ability to summarize results for clear and effective communications

  • Problem Solving - Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems. Look beyond the obvious and do not stop at the first answer

  • Dealing with ambiguity - quick to recognize situations where change is needed. Be able to quickly switch focus and be comfortable with risk. Be able to start work with basic outlines and to fill in requirements during the development process

  • Strategic agility - challenge himself/herself and team to constantly look for new approaches and sales techniques to achieve success
