Oracle
Solution Engineer
Greater Denver Area, US - Information Technology and Services
The Flash Storage (FS) system is a highly available, highly scalable, multi-protocol, enterprise storage system. The Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) is responsible for taking the FS and combining it with full stacks of hardware and software to create solutions. The engineers and architects within the group have a diverse mix of skills; systems design and implementation, performance analysis, software design and implementation (for undertaking changes to the FS where necessary to create a better overall system/solution), and the ability to work with colleagues across the broader Oracle development organization to both understand the technology from around the company and also influence co-engineering opportunities. All the roles within the group are very hands-on, requiring the engineers and architects to build out full solutions that work and then take those solutions and really push the envelope to find out what it takes to make them have stellar performance. This takes a mindset which isn’t just content to accept the components given them and prove that a working system can be built, but instead will strive to identify engineering changes that will produce industry-leading solutions.
With the recent release of the FS1-2 product, SEG is growing rapidly with the creation of a new lab with extensive hardware and software (and budgets to acquire more) and the need for more personnel. In particular, there are two immediate openings:
Responsibilities:
The individual will design the solution, install all relevant software and identify best practice configuration settings. Whitepapers and FS storage settings will be key deliverables of the position. In addition, the individual will be involved with co-engineering between various Oracle internal groups.
