This position supports the CSB Sales organization and reports into the Sales Business Intelligence Center of Excellence. Primary responsibilities include management of detailed data review, research, report development, and customer engagement in support of Sales staff and executives. Candidate must be able to work independently within and across business segments within a distributed, global team. Candidate will align and engage with both regional and global peers to understand and translate business objectives into business intelligence needs both within and across teams. Candidate will manage a team that reviews business data to assign categorization, build and run reports, analyze data/trends, and be a trusted advisor to the business stakeholders he/she supports. Candidate should be familiar with business intelligence best practices for creating, collecting, and analyzing various types of Sales data and KPIs. This role is part of a global team so the candidate must be able to work virtually and autonomously across multiple regions.
Role Responsibilities
- Develops complex solutions to business problems through in-depth analysis, coordination, and negotiation with decision makers
- Uses experience, innovation, and judgment to make decisions, guide, and influence team members, considering enterprise-wide implications
- Leads a team to develop innovative solutions to solve complex problems
- Contributes to strategic decisions
- Initiates new or revised procedures, programs, and initiatives
- Proactively analyzes trends, causes, and variances
- Assesses and determines priorities following business plans, structuring and implementing changes within the context of established strategy
- Designs and develops global analytics processes
- Influences a broad spectrum of stakeholders by building consensus and ensuring understanding of technical matters by non-technical leaders and staff
- Ensures improvements in operations are implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
- Understands and applies principles, concepts, theories, technologies and best practices for Business Intelligence and Analytics
- Knowledge of Dell Sales data and tools such as Teradata, Business Objects, Tableau, and/or SSRS is a plus
Qualifications Requirements
- 10 plus years of experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Microstrategy, SAS, Tableau, and Reporting Services
- Ability to communicate, advise, and council senior level managers, executives, and business partners within area of expertise
- Excellent communication and presentation skills along with strong people skills to deal effectively with problem solving, brainstorming sessions, strategy development
- Ability to work effectively with virtual and global teams
- Demonstrated ability to understand business processes and translate into business requirements to enhance business reporting and analytics capabilities
