Robert Half’s Corporate Human Resources team in San Ramon is seeking an HR Business Partner to provide strategic and advisory HR support and services for various corporate functional areas. As a key member of the HR leadership team, the HR Business Partner will work closely with internal partners to plan and deliver effective talent and organizational programs and services to the business to achieve company objectives. The HR Business Partner will operate as a trusted advisor and business partner to senior leaders and executives, as well as their teams, functioning as the expert on people and organizational effectiveness. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating challenging situations in a dynamic environment as well as be comfortable leading others through change. This position ensures that the business teams are successfully incorporating value-added talent and organizational processes that enable the organization to be productive, innovate and grow. This job requires knowledge of organizational development approaches, comprehensive and strategic human resources practices as well as Federal and State employment, compliance and legal requirements.


As an HR Business Partner, your specific responsibilities will include:



  • Partner with SVPs and other senior leaders to identify strategic HR needs for assigned business units, create plans and implement strategies. Align business unit HR plans with the Corporate Services Talent Strategy, and provide input to future Corporate Services plans.

  • Drive the development and implementation of business unit initiatives related to strategic talent planning, employee engagement and retention, change management and organizational development. Initiatives include, but are not limited to succession and high-potential management, organizational design, career planning, workforce planning, employee feedback, etc.

  • Identify business challenges through the review of comprehensive HR and business practices and the analysis of workforce data and trends. Recommend effective and impactful solutions and drive change within the business at an individual, team and organizational level. Provide expert insight into people and organizational issues.

  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to plan and drive the implementation of ad hoc initiatives related to recruiting, performance management, total rewards and training to ensure that programs are planned, organized and meet business objectives.

  • Provide coaching to senior leaders on their own development needs and resources, team development, and other leadership development topics. Promote and use assessment tools (MBTI, DiSC, etc.) and internal Training and Development resources to assist senior leaders in continuous professional development.

  • Design, develop and facilitate team effectiveness workshops based on client feedback and needs analysis. Facilitate HR related instructor-led courses on a variety of topics.

  • Directly manage HR Managers in the delivery of assigned responsibilities. Includes full-cycle people management responsibilities, not limited to, staffing, onboarding, performance management, compensation, coaching, engagement / retention, recognition, and development of staff. Manages escalated issues of a complex and/or sensitive nature and works with internal partners and senior leaders to remove obstacles and drive resolution.
