As an integrated part of the team, you proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information into the 21st century, but move information law forward as well.



As an Associate Product Counsel in Life Sciences you will work closely with a team of experts from the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, computer science and more on groundbreaking projects. The team is focused on shifting health care from a reactive, undifferentiated approach to a proactive, targeted approach by transforming the detection, prevention, management, and even our basic understanding of disease.



Responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws and regulations related to biopharmaceuticals and medical devices, privacy, data, and intellectual property.

  • Provide appropriately calibrated legal advice to teams from engineering, science, product management, and business development from the initial stages of product development to launch and beyond.

  • Respond promptly to a wide range of legal requests from engineering, science, product management, and business development.

  • Develop and maintain legal resources that are required for products, such as terms of service, privacy notices and other disclosures.

  • Provide backup support on drafting and negotiation of confidentiality, technology and commercial agreements in the life sciences field.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • JD degree, or equivalent education.

  • Licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction.

  • 3 years of related experience.

  • Experience in FDA medical device regulatory framework, clinical trial regulations, and health privacy and data use.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in a law firm or in-house legal department providing legal support for life sciences products and advising science and engineering teams on legal issues.

  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage high volume of requests.

  • Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment with limited direction and balance competing priorities and manage several time-sensitive projects at once.
