Test planning basics including test coverage, mapping of requirements to test cases and end-to-end traceability
Responsibilities
- Test Case preparation - user scenarios, manual test cases and creation or mining of data
- Test Automation - creation of component based automated test scripts based on business function
- Systems Integration Testing - execution of manual and automated test cases using industry standard tools
- Implement tests using through Python and Shell scripting
- Work closely with R&D to get unit tests extended
- Extend test coverage. Improve test methodologies and processes
- Create and review test plans, test cases, and test specifications
- Manage activities to meet their delivery dates and report accurate, complete status
- Take initiative to improve products, tools, and process.
- Help improve product documentation
- Help improve overall quality of the product
- Work with closely with developers to resolve issues and reproduce bugs
- Design and execute manual and automated tests
- File and monitor bug reports
- Contribute to the development and execution of system level tests
- Strong self-starter with a successful track record
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge- Data Center networking Network virtualization techniques, experience in management & orchestration tools. L4-L7 appliance both physical and virtual. Switch ACL and filtering
- Strong familiarity with Networking layers 2 and 3 protocols and Network Management.
- Working knowledge of SNMP, NetConf, HTTP, XML
- Virtualization: Experience in using VMWare (ESX, vShere, vSwitch, vCenter), Xen, KVM, Hyper-v
- Traffic generator tools: Ixia, Spirent, waverunner, Agilent, open source tools
- Experience with relational DB access, SOAP or web services in Java a plus (Software Engineering, Quality Assurance and Systems Analysis)
- Proficiency with one or more of the following scripting languages:
- Scripting: Tcl, Perl, Expect, Ruby, Python
- Experience in C++, Java are plus
- Eager to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
- Able to break down and creatively solve problems
- Flexible and adaptable at applying skills to different situations
- Proactively seeks out new challenges in a culture of continuous improvement
- Good listener and collaborator with attention to detail
- Understanding Software Development Lifecycle & OO programming concepts (Java, C++ or C#)
- Minimum of 7 years Experience in Software Testing
