Key Responsibilities




  • Own and deliver automation test strategy for our Windows Phone products, spanning multiple release cycles

  • Building and enhancing a test infrastructure that is scalable and reliable

  • Partner with development and product management teams in each stage to coordinate with the work and solve dependencies

  • Stay current with relevant technologies




Required Skills




  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

  • Experienced with C# for Windows Runtime, including best practices, APIs and libraries

  • Proficiency in modern testing methodologies

  • Enjoy breaking things, be exhilarated when you discover that really complicated bug, and be so detail-oriented that people comment on it

  • Strong quality focus and passion for deliver top quality products for our customers

  • Understanding wireless mobile networks, including WiFi and cellular (3G / 4G)

  • Thorough understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous calls

  • Ability to build, run and debug applications on the desktop, phone and tablet

  • Experienced with the Windows App Certification Kit

  • Excellent communication skills via email, instant messaging, conference calls, video conferencing, and in-person

  • Thorough understanding of concurrency and the C# threading model




Desired Skills




  • Built and shipped a Windows Phone application on the Microsoft Store

  • 5 or more years of core Java/C# or other CLR development experience

  • Good understanding of localization issues on the device

  • Good understanding of the Windows security model and best practices

  • Understanding of Windows Phone performance measurements, especially around UI scrolling performance and network use

  • Experience with hybrid native/web applications

  • Understanding screen rotation handling and handling various screen form factors and densities in a single code base

  • Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum)

  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience




Education


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience

  • Master's degree in computer science preferred
