Legal Intern (Rechtsreferendar/in)

As a Legal Intern with a specialization in intellectual property, technology or media law, you will contribute to the legal team’s efforts in a variety of areas including dispute resolution and litigation, commercial agreements and marketing projects. The German legal department of Google in Hamburg (Google Rechtsabteilung Hamburg) offers an optional training period (Wahlstation / Anwaltsstation), with an opportunity to actively promote the development of internet-law in an unconventional environment. You will produce high-quality legal research and analysis work, demonstrating that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and can communicate confidently at all levels.



Responsibilities


  • Assist in a variety of projects, whilst being predominantly committed to the localization of new Google-Products.

  • Gain insights into a range of IT-relevant legal issues and to various trademark, copyright and competition law problems.

  • Assist in optimizing processes and internal workflow in a multi- national team.

  • Support and advise our Sales and Client Services colleagues in managing national key accounts.




Minimum qualifications


  • First legal state exam completion (Erstes Staatsexamen).




Preferred qualifications


  • Work experience abroad or search engine experience.

  • Strong interest in recent developments in the field of Internet law.

  • Current enrollment in legal training (Station im Rahmen des Referendariats).

  • Proven knowledge and interest in IT-relevant legal problems.

  • Basic knowledge in the fields of trademark law and copyright law.

  • Fluency in English and German.
