Business Strategy Manager, Analytics and Reporting, Geo Operations

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Business Strategy Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.



Google’s Geo products play a prominent role in Google and include highly popular products such as Google Maps, Google Earth, Local, Street-View, Sketch-up, Transit, Traffic etc. The Dublin based Geo Operations team manages an operation to enable Google Geo Product teams to create and manage Geo Content for some of the above products and is critical to meeting Google’s content goals. As a Business Strategy Manager for Geo Operations you should be a strong leader who can manage complex analysis and modeling delivering business insights and drive change. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to track operations performance and impacts and will also work cross-functionally to drive efficiencies and tracking of performance with responsibility for reporting on these.



Responsibilities


  • Work with leadership teams to implement tracking and reporting of operations metrics across the EMEA programs. Identify and prioritize top challenges and key strategic growth opportunities.

  • Develop comprehensive performance analysis of Global operations, putting data models and analytics in place that provide a platform for strategic decision making.

  • Perform large scale data analysis and modeling to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the impact of initiatives to make noticeable improvements based on impact and feedback.

  • Partner with operations and engineering to develop and define new and improved tool, workflow and operational initiatives. Plan, design and track pilot initiatives and impacts. Provide operational finance supporting including tracking spend against budget, measuring and driving financial productivity.

  • Take a lead role in global processes for budget and forecast management, including coordinating project prioritization, regional headcount and performing budget vs. actual analysis.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in an analytical subject (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Science etc.) or equivalent practical experience.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • Excellent project management experience, ability to define projects and execute within timelines and with multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to deliver projects on time and to budget.

  • Analytically-minded, logical thinker with strong problem solving skills and ability to make trade-offs.

  • Team player and self starter with strong interpersonal and solution oriented attitude, and an ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast paced, constantly evolving team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and see the big picture while effectively managing details.

  • Excellent spreadsheet modeling, presentation, and SQL skills; statistical, quantitative modeling and forecasting skills.

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally and cross geography with all levels of management within Google and have exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
