Software QA Senior Engineer - Berwyn, PA
Dell Boomi, the market-leading provider of on-demand integration technology and the creator of AtomSphere, the industry's first-to-market Integration Cloud™, is recruiting for the position of QA Senior Engineer for our Berwyn PA offices to provide technical product testing around the company’s software offerings. The person we are seeking must be a highly motivated professional team player that is willing to work in a fast-paced, technology driven company where each individual’s contributions directly impact our success.
Role Responsibilities
-Will gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems
-Will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives
-Work with a team of developers in an agile environment to produce quality releases
-Apply development and technical skills to all aspects of QA, including setup of complex production simulation environments
- Build, Develop and Maintain New automated regression testing environment
- Assist and Support in product releases by testing and validating during maintenance windows (non-business hours)
- Gain deep knowledge of product functionality and perform thorough testing procedures on each product’s functional areas
- Develop test plan specifications and test cases
-Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization
-Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality
-Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, and acceptance testing methods
-Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers.
-Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
-Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws
Qualifications
Requirements
- 7+ years of direct experience as a senior tester for major application integration and/or major application product release.
- A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Basic computer programming experience, Java - Good understanding of Web technologies: XML, SOAP, HTTP, etc.
- Good understanding of software testing
- Good technical skills, ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
- Experience working for enterprise software, Cloud or SaaS providers, or web application providers is a key
- Ability to critically analyze system functions and testing scope
Preferences
- Experience with statistical reporting and analysis
- Time Management
- Linux/Unix Experience
- Understanding of SQL
-Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
-Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
