As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.



The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is driving the next wave of cloud computing. From lightning fast IaaS to innovate container technology to massive data analysis, GCP is pushing the envelope. As a Technical Program Manager you are excited about cloud computing and you enjoy spinning up thousands of VMs and dealing with Petabytes of data.



You're interested in driving Google Cloud Platform adoption through technology partnerships (Open Source and Commercial) and your idea of fun involves scalable compute clusters or massive data processing. Responsibilities


  • Work closely with technology partners, enabling them to offer their technology and services on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Provide thought leadership for cloud developer technology inside Google and drive cross-functional programs to streamline or improve the adoption of Google Cloud Platform.

  • Develop code for Google Cloud Platform based applications and lead cloud application architectural design, trade-offs, and risk-mitigation considerations to project teams.

  • Manage projects with high levels of complexity and scope with responsibility for developing well defined milestones and success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.

  • Become a product and industry influencer by maintaining deep technical and business knowledge of various market segments and of best-of-breed Cloud strategies.





  • Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable cloud based solution architectures for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS.

  • Experience with web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript; and programming languages: Python, Java, and Shell scripting.





  • Preferred qualifications

  • MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Math or a technically-oriented MBA.

  • 10 years of relevant experience in software development, professional services, solution engineering, technical consulting; with expertise in architecting and rolling out new technology and solution initiatives.

  • Experience with compute technologies (such as Docker, Mesos, OpenStack, Kubernetes), data processing software (such as Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive) or open source software (such as Cassandra, MongoDB, RabbitMQ).

  • Experience in building relationships with Google Cloud partners and integrating their technology with Google Cloud Platform.

  • Development experience using Google or other Cloud products.

  • Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, massive data storage, Hadoop, MapReduce, and security.
