Job Responsibilities
LinkedIn is seeking a world-class, top-tier computational advertising scientist and accomplished leader to join our stellar advertising relevance team as a Science Lead/Technical Architect. You will have the opportunity to drive the design of innovative advertising algorithms and products that deliver compelling experiences to our advertisers and members, and optimize revenue for the company as well. You will be the thought leader to define and expand advertising’s technology stack to ensure that we can address the needs for future growth. This is also a key role to lead LinkedIn's advertising initiatives in the content marketing and B2B lead generation space.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal individual for this role will be an accomplished scientist/engineer having worked in the internet advertising space, has exposure to various aspects of the problem domain. They should feel right at home exploring billions of records, implementing machine-learning algorithms and strategies, and digging into the data and metrics to gain insights. Intimate familiarity with DSP, SSPs, DMPs, Ad exchange dynamics are a definite plus.
Desired Skills and Experience
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or other quantitative discipline
• Research and development leadership in the areas of optimization, data mining, statistical machine learning, or large-scale algorithms
• Superb track record of building commercially successful advertising products for display advertising, sponsored search, and/or online marketplaces
• Research and development experience in more than a few of the following areas: ads response (click or conversion) prediction, behavioral targeting, look-alike modeling, user modeling, real-time bidding, auction theory, automated pricing, bid-landscape forecasting, supply-demand forecasting, contextual advertising, or advertising metrics and measurement
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills with a proven ability to work cross functionally in order to establish and meet shared goals
• Proven track record of publications in premier data mining and machine learning conferences is a plus
