Technical Program Manager - LinkedIn Brand & Marketing

LinkedIn is looking for a smart, sociable and responsible Technical Program Manager within our User Experience Design (UED) group with a strong technical understanding of web applications. This position will be responsible for understanding business processes, identifying and prioritizing projects to improve productivity and managing these projects to completion. This is a hands-on position where the project manager will be involved in business analysis, functional design discussions, testing, proof-of-concept and more. The individual will drive requirements and write them if necessary, build workable plans, communicate responsibilities clearly, understand issues and relentlessly drive them to conclusion.



The Technical Program Manager will interact closely with business stakeholders, UED leaders, web developers, architects, designers, systems and network administrators and support staff to assist in prioritizing, scheduling and deploying multiple simultaneous projects. This is a fast-paced position that requires a high degree of energy and focus without compromising quality. A key criterion to success will be the ability to build strong relationships with business units and delivering value to their strategy and operations.



Responsibilities:



• Manage multiple web development and process projects simultaneously from beginning to end.

• Build strong relationships with the respective business units and thoroughly understand their business processes.

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

• Gather and document requirements, develop functional and system specifications, drive design decisions and create/execute testing plans.

• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

• Monitor and resolve issues and risks; create appropriate reports and communicate status efficiently.



Qualifications:



• 3+ years direct work experience in a technical project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.

• Experience utilizing phase gate, Agile, lean, or hybrid processes.

• 2+ years of experience in a business liaison or analyst role, including all aspects of process and technology analysis.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong familiarity with project management software, such as AtTask, Smartsheet, or other browser based project management tools.

• Ability to quickly adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients and other departments.

• Must be proactive and self manageable.

• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.

• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

• Experience with estimating costs, timelines, and resource requirements.

• Strong technical, written, and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical field.

• CAPM, PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum certifications are plus.

• Experience with Adobe CQ or other Web Content Management Systems a plus.
